The BreathXchange Personal Respiratory Heat Exchanger is the result of a collaborative effort between the engineer inventor of the QXtec Heat Exchange Module and a board certified allergy and asthma doctor. The QXtec technology was invented by Lee Bagby PE, a professional mechanical engineer. Raised in a cold climate, Bagby became an avid outdoor enthusiast. His passion for the outdoors combined with his professional technical expertise inspired the idea. Through his work designing HVAC applications he was exposed to the latest heat exchange technology, which ignited the idea for application to recreation accessories.
In early 2004, Lee was introduced to James L. Sublett MD, a b oard-certified specialist in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the founder of AllergyZone, a company who's mission is to develop products that will benefit those people who suffer from allergy and asthma. Dr. Sublett had already brought to market a the AllergyZone high efficiency furnace filter for allergy and asthma sufferers. The BreathXchange masks were developed as a way to help protect people with breathing problems from the effects of cold air, but they are also beneficial to anyone who spends time in the cold and needs to stay warm.
